Sword Art Online: MD – List of Notable Tanks and Damage Mitigators
Here’s a list of notable tanks in the action RPG mobile game: Sword Art Online: Memory Defrag. Now that they added a new event where tanks and healers can shine, this new list will show which units are good for mitigating damages. – Mitigators can handle more damages than regular tanks, especially when used against their counter elements. Mitigators can also solo, but regular tanks relies more on their teammates.

– List of characters that can reduce damages above 50%. Note that using elemental advantage will give your characters 50% damage reduction.
– Also considered as top tiers for “non-speed ranking” events (ex: Floor Clearing Events), but still parry, dodge, or at least block all incoming attacks to reduce damages.

– Please note that the list above is for reference only, it’s a work in progress and will never be final. – Healing percentages listed above are just estimates, healing amount can be increased by enhancing the Attack stat. – Character Order List: Default Order: Defense Stat > Character Name – Refer here for Floor Clearing Event FAQs – Tanks and Healers can shine here, especially these new type of characters that can mitigate incoming damages. They are super tanky because of their high damage reduction and healing capabilities! – DPS characters are still viable though, just follow the “Info Guide” in the game to check the recommended Element and Weapon Type for clearing floors. – To find which characters are effective to a certain floor, refer below.
– Slash – Swords and Dual Blades – Effective against soft-bodied enemies such as Mantises, Slimes and Gerberas (plant monsters). – Not effective against tough-skinned enemies such as Lizardmen.
– Strike – Mace and Guns
– Effective against hard-bodied enemies such as Elementals and Skeletons. – Not effective against soft-bodied enemies such as Mantises, Slimes and Gerberas (plant monsters).
– Thrust/Pierce – Rapiers, Daggers, and Bows.
– Effective against tough-skinned enemies such as Lizardmen. – Not effective against hard-bodied enemies such as Elementals and Skeletons.
– Magic – Rods
– Deals more damage to a certain element than the usual elemental affinity bonus damage. – Fire > Wind > Earth > Water > Fire (Holy < > Dark)
– Note that OS Characters and some selected characters have a Battle Skill or Skill Slot that increases their damages against Neutral element enemies.
